You must be over 18 to purchase wine on this website. Friends of Wine is neither responsible nor liable for unauthorised purchases, or for use of products purchased on this website by persons who misrepresent their age.

Descriptions and images of, and references to, products on the Site do not imply our or any of our affiliates' endorsement of such products. We reserve the right, with or without prior notice, to change such descriptions, images, and references; to limit the available quantity of any product; to honor, or impose conditions on the honoring of, any coupon, coupon code, promotional code or other similar promotions; to bar any user from making any or all purchase(s); and/or to refuse to provide any user with any product.

Price and availability of any product offered through the Site are subject to change without notice. You agree to pay all charges that may be incurred by you or on your behalf through the Site, at the price(s) in effect when such charges are incurred, including without limitation all shipping and handling charges. In addition, you are responsible for any taxes that may be applicable to your purchases. Your sole remedy for the purchase of any product from Friends of Wine through the Site is to return it for a full or partial refund as set forth in the shipping contract governing such purchase.

Privacy Policy

Friends of Wine considers any contact or billing information that you supply private and confidential. We will never sell or give away any personal information that you submit. Any person that delivers or attempts to deliver any damaging code to this web site or attempts to gain unauthorised access to any page on this web site shall be prosecuted and civil damages shall be claimed in the event that suffers any damage or loss.

In several areas, we ask you to provide information by filling out and submitting an online form. The following categories describe the information we request and how we use this information.

Authorised Contributor

Member Sign In

In order to better use the Site, we encourage you to become a member of the Site ("Member"). If and when you decide to become a Member, you agree to (1) provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself as prompted by the appropriate registration form, (2) maintain and update your information to keep it accurate, current, and complete, and (3) comply with these Terms of Use. You may review, correct, change, or update your membership information by visiting the Your Account section of the Site, or by e-mailing our customer support at info@friendsofwine.co.za . If any information provided by you is untrue, inaccurate, not current, or incomplete, we reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your membership.

As part of the membership process, you will be asked to select a Member name and password. You may not choose a Member name that impersonates someone else, is or may be illegal, is or may be protected by trademark or other proprietary rights law, is vulgar or otherwise offensive, or may cause confusion. We reserve the right to reject any Member name in our sole discretion. You agree not to transfer or resell your use of or access to the Site or permit anyone else whose account or membership was suspended or terminated to use the Site through your account, Member name or password. If you have reason to believe that your password is no longer secure, you must promptly change your password by updating your Member information, and immediately notify us by emailing us at info@friendsofwine.co.za You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Member name and password and for any and all activities (including purchases) that are conducted through your account.

Checkout

  • We ask for your name, address and contact information so we can send you your order, and so we can contact you if we have a question about your order. We ask for credit card information so we can fulfill your order, and so we can provide this information to the company or companies who process your credit card payment.
  • We do not share any other information with third parties, except in the case of contact or order information needed to fulfill your order. We do not share or sell email addresses.

My Account

  • When you create an account, we ask for your name, address, phone number, email address, and a user name and password. We use this information to fulfill your orders and to enable time-saving features like express checkout, wish lists, and saved baskets. We do not share or sell this information.

Wine Talk Submissions

  • Friends of Wine does not accept unsolicited materials or ideas for use in our publications, other media or businesses. We are not responsible for the similarity of any of our content or programming to any media or materials or ideas transmitted to the Site. Should you send any unsolicited materials or ideas, you do so with the understanding that no additional consideration of any sort will be provided to you, and that you are waiving any claim against Friends of Wine or our affiliates regarding the use of such materials and ideas, even if a material or an idea is substantially similar to the idea you submitted. IF YOU CHOOSE TO MAKE ANY OF YOUR PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE OR OTHER INFORMATION PUBLICLY AVAILABLE IN WINE TALK/SHARE, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.
    • The Friends of Wine management have final say in what constitutes appropriate submissions and reserve the right to exclude anything they determine inappropriate.

    Shipping and Billing Policy

    Shipment of product from Friends of wine is only done after final approval of the full amount payable on a valid credit card. Authorisation for current and future transactions is to be obtained from all clients and has to be in writing. All card transactions and card detail are kept confidential. No transactions are processed through the internet. All transactions are process in a secured environment.

    Purchases

    When you indicate that you wish to purchase any product made available through this site, you may be asked to supply certain information relevant to your purchase, including without limitation your credit card number, the expiration date of your credit card, your billing address, and your shipping information. YOU REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT YOU HAVE THE LEGAL RIGHT TO USE ANY CREDIT CARD(S) OR OTHER PAYMENT MEANS USED TO INITIATE ANY TRANSACTION.

    Any such information provided through the Site will be treated by Friends of Wine in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By submitting such information, you grant Friends of Wine the right to provide such information to third parties for purposes of facilitating the completion of purchases initiated by you or on your behalf. Verification of information may be required prior to the acknowledgment or completion of any purchases.

    Shipping Information

    Shipping can take between 5 to 10 working days after it leaves the warehouse on the 2nd of the month.  Goods must be signed for by an adult older than the age of 18 years.  Please notify Friends of Wine on the same day of delivery of any breakages or faulty orders.

    Age requirements & Adult Signature

    Wine may only be sold and delivered to a person who is at least 18 years old. With your order to Friends of Wine you state that you are at least 18 years old and that the person that will receive the wine also is at least 18 years old.

    All orders containing alcoholic beverages require an adult signature upon delivery. For this reason, we strongly encourage you to provide us with a commercial address for delivery of your wine purchases whenever possible.

    Multiple Delivery Attempts

    If no one is available to receive the package and it cannot be left in a secure location, two subsequent attempts to deliver will be made. Wine orders required an adult signature, so whenever possible, we strongly encourage you to use a commercial business address to assure the fastest delivery time.

    Customer Satisfaction

    We are utterly committed to customer satisfaction, but as wine is a matter of taste, we cannot guarantee that the wines we send you will always match your palette. We will, however, do everything in our power to see that you receive wines that you like to drink.

    We measure success by the satisfaction of our customers. We want to bring you the best products at the fairest price, backed by the best service possible.

    Returns and Exchanges

    If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your order, please contact us within 30 days of receipt of your order at info@friendsofwine.co.za

Refund policy:

Friends of Wine refunds to the credit card that was used at the time of purchase.  Refunds will only be processed upon receiving your returned shipment.  Please allow 30 days for the refund to appear on your credit card statement.  If payment was received by other means, Friends of Wine will post you a cheque or transfer the refund via EFT.

Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel a recently placed order, we will do everything possible to honor your request. However, once your order has been submitted to our fulfillment facility and is being processed or already shipped out, it cannot be cancelled or revised.

Right of Refusal

Friends of Wine reserves the right, at our discretion, to refuse to accept or execute any purchase order if we feel circumstances dictate. Friends of Wine retain ownership of goods until payment has been received. For any situation or circumstance not described in our terms and conditions, South African law applies.
